The waters of Hongye Hot Springs are crystal clear and of excellent quality. They emerge from the source at a scalding 143 degrees Celsius, while the soaking temperature within the park is around 42 degrees Celsius. It is a bicarbonate-sodium hot spring, with a pH level of approximately 6.4.
